The Marshall House Review: What To REALLY Expect If You Stay

marshall house savannah

The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The nightly wine and cheese hours with entertainment were terrific. We liked the fact that there was always complimentary cold bottles of water and a coffee and tea station in the lobby. Built in 1851, this charming 68-room property housed Union soldiers during the Civil War -- and some guests say their spirits still walk the hallways. However, this upper-middle-range property has some of the drawbacks common to old buildings, such as noise issues, small rooms and bathrooms, and few amenities.

City Market is a more diverse and casual version of Riverfront, with lots of live music and vendors selling locally made wares. Afternoon wine and entertainment nice touch. The conditions, like all the courses are excellent and they do a very good job with all the various golf and country club amenities.

Crib and extra bed policies

Saw tour groups stopping and talking about it across the street but no info was offered to the actual guests of the hotel, which I thought was odd! Guest services is great and so helpful. Every member of the staff was wonderful. Our room was comfortable and quiet, even though our windows faced Broughton Street.

In the oldest city in Georgia, you are bound to hear a surplus of ghost stories. In Savannah, it seems every location has a unique set of ghost stories. The Marshall House is home to quite a few. These spirits are some of Savannah’s friendliest ghosts. Guests of the hotel have said to have heard ghostly children playing and running down the halls late at night as well as faucets turning on by themselves.

Fun Historic FactsAbout The Marshall House Hotel

There's shopping and dining right outside our door, and beautiful squares and antebellum architecture at every turn. Most guests do not need their car until it's time to leave. Based on reviews, other golfers are saying that the course conditions at The Landings Club - Marshwood Course are excellent.

There’s a small museum inside the hotel. We're staying at the Marshall house right now. Specially, Dona and our new favorite Cary this will be the second time I booked From ... The Historic District is bordered by the Savannah River and Forsyth Park, and includes the Riverfront and City Market areas. Riverfront is a (somewhat) recently revitalized area, with restaurants, galleries, shops, and bars.

Everything was spotless and in great repair. The location is perfect for exploring the historical district. Loved the location, the friendliness of the staff, the comfort of the parlour area and the wine and nibbles reception with entertainment. The waiter serving at this was so nice and welcoming, a credit to the hotel, he was a gentleman. Bedroom was so comfy and immaculately clean. Fun, quirky, and a little bit different, the guest rooms at The Marshall House have a unique style that you just won't find in a new hotel.

If you want to give an assortment of products, check out one of my favorite travel shopping sites minimus.biz, where you can find single-serve packages of toiletries, snacks, baby care items, over-the-counter medications, and more. If you need additional help planning a cruise vacation, don’t hesitate to call upon the expert planning team at Touring Plans Travel. There are plenty of free soft drinks available on the ships’ pool decks, but that’s not much help if you’re watching a three-hour movie six decks below. My favorite is the colossal Stanley mug, but there are numerous other brands and sizes. Waterproof phone cases are inexpensive, but they can be tricky to seal properly.

At Disney, PG13 language is about as racy and you want to get. The sun and wind of ocean travel can be hard on anyone’s skin. While sunscreen is available in the shipboard shops, Coppertone is likely the only brand you’ll find.

Unlike a frenetic Disney theme park vacation, a cruise vacation can be much more focused on relaxation – kicking back with a good book by the pool or on the beach. Since the pandemic, DCL has not carried reading material in its gift shops. With an e-reader like the Kindle, you can bring a complete series of beach-reads with you on vacation with no worries that you’ll run out of books. Make sure to download all your Bridgertons before you embark the ship because onboard WiFi can be expensive. Stateroom doors on Disney Cruise Line are made of metal, which makes them a great surface for displaying magnets.

If you need sound to fall asleep, such as a podcast, or even white noise, do everyone a favor and invest headphones that are comfortable enough to wear as you drift into sleepyland. If you can’t sleep with something on your head, a SleepBar can be another helpful option. You should be able to take photos of your underwater snorkeling finds with your phone inside a waterproof case, but I’ve never been able to get good shots through a case’s thick plastic. You’ll have better luck with something like a disposable underwater camera for kids or with a waterproof Go-Pro for adults. Keep everyone’s feet safe while you explore the beach by investing in quality water shoes. Keep all your paperwork in one safe spot with a family passport holder.

DCL provides towels on the ship and on its private islands, so you don’t have to bring those with you. A few sets of towel clips or towel bands can help keep your towels in place while you’re off getting another serving of chicken nuggets. Our mission is to help you save time and money on your vacation.

Binoculars can be a great tool for anyone who wants to scan the ocean for other vessels or for wildlife such as whales and dolphins. Binoculars can be particularly useful in sailings in Alaska (to better see glacier features) and the Norwegian fjords where animals are sometimes visible onshore. Most cast members will allow you to slide with a Go-Pro attached to your body with a harness.

Passionate cruisers have been known to invest significant time or significant money on sites like Etsy to create elaborate personalized magnets. For this reason, my magnets of choice are versions of Magnetic Poetry. It’s a hoot to come back to your room and find cute messages left by other guests. Great choices for cruises in the islands is the Pirate Magnetic Poetry kit or the Beach Magnetic Poetry kit. There is  also a Christmas version and an Edgar Allen Poe version that might be fun if you’re sailing on a Halloween cruise. Just be aware of what words you’re displaying as you put them on your door.

Not everyone feels ill-effects from ocean travel, but even mild seasickness can quickly derail an otherwise lovely vacation. Head trouble off at the pass with motion-sickness remediation such as SeaBands, motion sickness glasses, or good old-fashioned Dramamine. Speak to a medical professional if you have serious concerns about this issue. DCL gives lanyards as a gift to Silver level and higher Castaway Club members. They’re by no means necessary, but some first-time cruisers like to have them on hand. Ship staterooms are small and any noise will inevitably be heard by everyone in the room.

A word to the wise — practice closing the case and submerging it in a sink several times filling it with something innocuous like a piece of paper rather than with your expensive gadget. You can increase your storage space by placing some magnetic hooks strategically around your room to hold your day bag, jacket, beach cover-up, or other doo-dads. A Disney Gift Card can be used at the ship’s onboard shops or applied to a stateroom balance. I recommend packing cubes for most travel, but I find them a near imperative for travel on the Disney Wish. The primary stateroom storage on the Wish takes the form of shelves rather than drawers. It’s much easier to keep track of items when they’re contained in a packing cube rather than loose on a shelf.

Caribbean Cruise Weather by Month

best months to cruise caribbean

Because this area is farther from any U.S. ports and there are so many potential islands to stop at, Southern Caribbean cruises are typically longer than cruises to the other regions. Many cruises to the Southern Caribbean will also make stops in the Eastern islands on their way through — the difference here is that where Eastern cruises turn around, Southern cruises continue on. Also, you'll usually only see luxury sailings in the Caribbean during the winter months — from December through March.

Seasons in the Caribbean: Dry Season and Wet Season

best months to cruise caribbean

Like many warm destination getaways, the last week of December, including the Christmas holiday, is one of the busiest times to book a cruise. However, you're bound to find amazing deals if you choose to travel during the first two weeks of December, says Smarter Travel. You'll get a respite from the frosty northern hemisphere weather, not to mention you'll sail during the first of the dry months outside of hurricane season. If you do plan to book during the Christmas and New Year's holidays, understand that these dates usually sell out first and plan nine to 12 months in advance, advises Cruisemates. Fall is the peak of hurricane season, especially for the Eastern and Western regions.

Cultural Events and Holidays

Since the start, it's been our aim to provide the latest cruise news covering all the major cruise lines. We make sure cruisers are fully prepared for their cruise vacation with tips on ships and ports.Millions of travelers rely on Cruise Hive in the United States, Europe, Australia, and around the world. As the name suggests, precipitation increases throughout the wet season, but showers are brief and sporadic during the first few months. Spring — late April and most of May — is regarded as shoulder season, with competitive pricing. Be aware, though, that April is spring break for American university students and cruises out of Florida’s ports, in particular, can be packed with partying students.

Best Months to Cruise the Caribbean

The Caribbean Sea is usually relatively calm during late fall and early spring. As you can imagine, this helps ensure all passengers enjoy a smoother, more relaxing cruising experience. Given the unpredictability of Caribbean weather, the dry season does not have a specific start and finish date, but it generally runs from early November until late April. During this stretch, temperatures tend to be relatively mild, while precipitation is at an annual minimum. Weather happens -- and in the Caribbean, it happens a lot in September and October. A few years ago, I cruised the Western Caribbean near the end of October and it poured the whole time.

There isn’t a single answer to what the cheapest time to cruise the Caribbean is, as pricing changes often based on many factors. However, the off-peak season—spanning from late August through early November—is generally the cheapest time to book a cruise. Regarding our top picks, we almost always point towards November and April, as they provide the least precipitation, the calmest waters, and plenty of sunshine. These are also some of the most expensive months to travel, so you may want to pick some other time during the dry season. When you book a cruise that sets sail between August and September, you almost guarantee that you will travel during the peak of the wet season.

When is the best Caribbean Weather?

The summer and fall seasons are the best times to avoid the throngs of tourists throughout the Caribbean. Holland America offers spacious midsize vessels that carry no more than 2,700 passengers, providing a relaxed and intimate cruising experience ideal for pairs seeking quality time at sea. For those who wouldn't be caught dead on a vessel that doesn't have butler service and free-flowing caviar, the Caribbean can be a tough spot.

With diverse geography, amenities, and culture throughout the Caribbean, the are different advantages to each month during the year. At the end of the day, the best time to take a cruise to the Caribbean is when you can fit it into your schedule since it is such a fantastic year-round destination. Pirates Week is the national festival of the Cayman Islands, taking place in November. As you might imagine, it's a week filled with reenactments and spectacle, paying homage to the islands' rich history and cultural ties to piracy. Beginning at the very end of April and into May, Antigua Sailing Week is globally known for its prestigious sailing races and parties. Tons of music and jazz festivals take place around the Caribbean this time of year, including the Pure Grenada Music Festival in May and the St. Kitts Music Festival in June.

If you prefer childless cruising during the holidays, you can choose an adults-only cruise line like Viking. The American Chronicle says July is a good month for cruising the Caribbean, even though it's technically the start of hurricane season. Many people like traveling during this time when the prices are surprisingly low, the traffic has thinned out and the islands are peaceful. There is hardly any change in weather during this month, which averages temperatures ranging from a balmy 78º F to 87º F. The most active hurricanes typically occur from August through September. In fact, there was less than one small hurricane per year in July between 1851 and 2006.

That means ships may be below capacity as high season comes into swing later in the summer. Short cruises remain relatively cheap, but prices for weeklong sailings increase -- some into the four-digit range, per person. The late spring and early summer months are great for enjoying the Caribbean at its relative quietest. Hot temperatures make long days near the sea enticing, though you are more likely to encounter a day or two of rain in some parts of the Caribbean in May or June. Also, keep in mind that a higher storm risk doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a guarantee for a storm.

Here's a look at what each month of the year is like for a Caribbean cruise so that you can pick the best time for your family to cruise the Caribbean. The Greater Antilles refers to the bigger islands in the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Cuba, the Cayman Islands and Hispaniola, which includes Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Yearly Carnival celebrations also draw crowds across the Caribbean, and the dates vary by island, but many happen in February and March or July and August.

There is an especially low chance of hurricanes hitting your islands if you're traveling to the Southern Caribbean islands like Aruba, St. Lucia, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago. According to Fodors travel guide, the best time to go on a Caribbean cruise is simply "year-round." Yet, for the discerning traveler, this information is simply not enough to make an informed decision. Sure, the weather may be warm all 12 months of the year, but there are rainy months, hurricanes and higher costs during certain months of the year.

Caribbean cruises in January and February can be extremely budget friendly, with sailings available from $50 per person, per night. Carnival and similar festivals are also celebrated in other Caribbean islands. Exact dates may change depending on the year, so be sure to check if you will be sailing to these islands during Carnival. With kids out of school in the summer, you should expect to see more families onboard. Summer can be a great time for families to cruise because they do not have to rely on a school schedule, giving them more flexibility in cruise itinerary and length. If you’re looking for the best deals, you need to know when to book your cruise.

There is no wrong way to do the Caribbean, whether your interests are above or under the waves, onshore or off. But one of the best ways to set yourself up for success is to head to the Caribbean during a time that aligns with your interests, budget, and vacation style. The line added Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady in 2022 and 2023, respectively. The debut of the line's fourth ship in the fleet, Brilliant Lady, has been delayed but could take place in 2024. You'll now find these zones on Caribbean-focused vessels like Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Prima. Each of these solo cruiser zones, which are unrepeated in the industry for now, includes dozens of cabins for solo travelers, all clustered around each other.

You can experience fewer crowds but still benefit from the peak season weather and attractions by going in January and February. For the quintessential summer vacation, cruise to the Caribbean in July and make the most of your days and nights. During the daytime, bask in typical Caribbean cruise weather ranging from the mid-70s to upper 80s. Spend time floating in the warmest ocean temperatures of the year, or sunbathe on the golden beaches of the Western Caribbean during their driest month. If you’re cruising to the Eastern region, soak up the summer sun on any of the dazzling beaches, or head indoors for a taste of true Caribbean culture.

From street parades to calypso music, elaborate costumes, and dancing, a full port day of partying is guaranteed. The festival is celebrated with events from May to August, with the biggest celebration taking place on Grand Kadooment Day in early August. If you are looking to get the lowest cost for a Caribbean cruise, late August through early November see some of the lowest prices of the year. In rare situations, entire sailings have been cancelled if the path of the storm rules out any possibility of a ship making it in or out of its homeport.

April is one of those sweet spots that, while technically in the peak season, features fewer crowds, slightly better prices and ideal weather. However, beware of spring break and Easter dates, which can be very busy and expensive. May marks the wettest months in the Caribbean islands and hurricane season begins in July, which means that smooth April sailing is the perfect time to enjoy the dry season.

Clothes like cut-off shorts, capris, swimwear, and tank-tops are not allowed, but yes, you can wear "resort casual." Include this attire for the evening on Cruise. Remember that you can pack lighter by wearing outfits more than once on a cruise. A good tip is to pair a daytime outfit with dressier shoes and some jewelry, and wear it in the evening for a whole new look. Packing for a cruise always involves taking more clothes than you would for a normal holiday. On most cruises there are certain dress codes for evening wear and different dress codes for different nights of your trip.

Cruise attire varies from a bathing suit & cover up to cocktail dresses and if you’re not careful you can end up way overpacking. With this post, I’ve put together 12 outfits for a cruise that will take you from excursions to evening easily, without stuffing your suitcase. You’ll see that all my cruise clothing can be mixed and matched to create multiple cruise ship outfits from just a few key pieces.

Can the Mother of the Bride Wear Pants?

Every night is a party night where people can dress their best. Sometimes, people get upset when they don't get the cruise line dress code according to their dressing style. So, here are examples of cruise lines listed by the dressing style of the travelers. For example, you are going on a 7-day cruise trip with your child. Here is the packing list & suggest what to wear on a cruise. A loose casual dress like this one can look great on it’s own, or over a bathing suit if you’re off on a shore excursion.

I tried to choose clothing that would stay pretty wrinkle free and that I wouldn’t need to iron. I should note that clean, dark jeans are allowed in the main dining room. On most nights my husband wore khakis, but this evening he wore a jeans and a polo style shirt. After not dressing up much the last couple of years, I was happy to dress up a little bit, although I chose outfits I was comfortable in. I’m short and love to wear comfortable wedge sandals that I can walk in easily. I always pack at least one pair of stylish neutral wedge style sandals to wear during the day and evening (seen in photo below).

Casual T-shirt Dress Tank Style

But if you prefer to keep it casual, dark wash jeans and a pretty blouse are perfectly acceptable. A maxi dress is an ideal choice for many warm weather destinations. They’re comfortable and cool and perfect for a range of activities, from shopping to dining at a nice restaurant. You’ll also need a hat, flip flops, and sunscreen if you plan to sit by the pool all day.

This jumpsuit is the perfect option if you’re looking to impress at dinner on the cruise ship or walking around port with a cute hat for a few photos. If you’re looking for a quick cover up for your swim suit while relaxing on the pool deck of the cruise ship this is a great option. It’s cruise time is another generic cruise shirt that is awesome to sport around the ship all day, any day. I’ve also read that it’s not a good idea to wear anything camouflage off the cruise ship, as it’s disrespectful and even illegal in certain countries. We decided to go to Caneletto, an Italian specialty restaurant for the second formal night. We still dressed “nicely”, but skipped the longer evening dress I brought and the suit for my husband.

The guests on Seabourn dresses very well throughout the day. Even the cruises of Seabourn is considered as elegant casual were dressier. Here elegance means women wear a skirt or slacks with a blouse and men in their jacket with or without a tie. A little black dress is always appropriate for cruise formal nights, however the lace detail on this dress just adds an extra touch of elegance. Like most of the other dresses in this list of cruise outfit ideas, it’s very affordable.

Daytime attire on a cruise ship can vary from relaxed and casual to slightly more dressed-up for brunch or exploring port cities. Here are some tips about what to wear on formal nights on your favorite Cruise. While there are a lot of beautiful dresses in this post, you can definitely wear pants and in many cases, even jeans on a cruise. Jumpsuits and rompers are trendy and flattering, and will look great on a cruise in the evening. Whether you’re going on a honeymoon cruise, cruising with kids or just treating yourself to a much needed vacation, these outfits should cover it!

I wore this long black sundress in the evening on our cruise. There are a variety of colors of this dress available as well. Midi dresses are versatile evening wear options suitable for almost any event on a cruise.

This light sundress can equally be worn during sea days on a cruise, as well as in ports. It’s also a perfect wearable cover up for beach shore excursions. The weather was beautiful as we boarded the Nieuw Statendam in Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale. I wore a light floral sundress for my embarkation day outfit. I also rewore this dress later on during the week on a casual night in the main dining room. I just back from a relaxing and fun cruise and I have a lot of tropical cruise outfits to share.

Princess Cruises Vs Carnival Compared

carnival princess cruise

For instance, if you are out by the pool deck, you aren’t going to hear music blaring or have “World’s Sexiest Man” competitions. And around the ship there are fewer announcements from the Cruise Director interrupting the day to tell you about sales on the ship or shows coming up that day. Meanwhile, your other passengers are also less likely to be less looking for a party.

Experience the Ultimate Night of Sleep at Sea

Expect lots of the cruise to revolve around the pool, dining, and generally having a good time with onboard entertainment. Relax on top-rated beaches, explore ancient ruins and get immersed in colorful cultures — the laidback Caribbean has lots to love for everyone. Discover the Eastern, Western or Southern Caribbean with a variety of unique itineraries and departure ports. For the first time, Princess is offering a season of 6- and 8-day Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages roundtrip from Port Canaveral on Caribbean Princess®. (Can't choose? Combine them for a 14-day sailing!) Or sail aboard the new Sun Princess® from Fort Lauderdale on 5- to 14-day voyages to see both the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Carnival Cruise Line is best for families, young couples, and active travelers.

Itineraries

I am also new to cruising, just completed my first cruise last month to the Mexican Riviera on Carnival. I just assumed go to Carnival but everyone on those boards said to check other lines. I am so glad they did as I found a 14 days cruise from LA (my home town) which is around the same price as the 10 day cruise from San Francisco. Mainstream cruise lines cater to a variety of guests, hoping to provide something for everyone. These typically cost about $100 - $350 per person per day. In terms of drinks and cocktails, you have a variety of choices.

MSC Cruises

There is a pizza oven and grill out there that serves an expanded menu at night ... In Alaska, we had crab cakes and onion rings (yummmm) and in Mexico, we had street tacos (extra yummmm). If you missed the movie at MUTS, it would always be in your stateroom as an option the next day.

Carnival or Princess Cruises for Formal Nights

Carnival has partnerships with celebrity chef Guy Fieri to produce menus for Guy’s Burger Joint and Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que. When you choose to apply (and are approved) for a new credit card through our site, we may receive compensation from our partners, and this may impact how or where these products appear. Please view our advertising policy and product review methodology for more information.

Princess Cruises is best for passengers looking for fine dining and upscale menus with better food quality. Unlike other cruise lines, most of the alternative restaurants are free. Older adults will fit right in with the more sophisticated and laid-back activities on Princess Cruises. The activities and entertainment on Carnival are a perfect fit for young adults and families. You can expect the cruises to be full of families and kids during the summer and Christmas break.

Even though a lot is included in the base cruise fare, you may still spend money on things like spa treatments, specialty dining, drinks, and excursions. In addition, guests can also have to pay for things like gratuities and tips. Princess Cruises, on the other hand, is a premium cruise line. Premium cruise lines typically offer upscale food, accommodations, and service. These typically cost about $150 - $400 per person per day. Both ships have lots of activities to keep you busy throughout your cruise.

Even the littlest guests will delight in this whimsical, forest-themed world that inspires playtime and invites exploration. Kids, ages 3 to 7, can dance, enjoy pajama movie nights, create art projects like Animal Planet™ puppets and masks or compete in a Lego® boat-building contest. The Reef Splash Zone is the ultimate spot for families of all ages! The newly reimagined space features an interactive water playground with a splash pool, water showers and a whale feature that “rains” from its fluke. Plus a new Game Zone with oversized backyard games, comfy lounge sectionals and a kid-friendly bar setting so families can enjoy cocktails and mocktails during a day of splashing, laughing and playing. Or get ready for a night on the town at the salon which features women’s styling color, men’s haircuts and shaves, manicure and pedicure choices and teeth whitening.

Carnival offers a wide range of large and mid-sized ships in their current fleet, with 23 in total compared to Princess cruise’s fleet of 18. The line has 15 ships cruising global itineraries that are marketed to both American and international passengers. We have traveled to Alaska several times on both Carnival and Princess.

Carnival Cruise Line is a popular and affordable American cruise line that operates 24 ships sailing to destinations all over the world, catering to families, couples, and groups of friends. The defining characteristic of Carnival is its focus on fun and entertainment, all for less money than its rivals in the industry. You'll get more for your money, and a better overall onboard experience, with a higher-ranked cruise line. Carnival refers to its fleet as the "fun ships," offering a lively onboard atmosphere that focuses on pool parties, game shows and original entertainment. It prides itself on friendly service and a plethora of casual yet delectable dining venues. The line is an excellent choice for families, and it offers both short and long voyages at a variety of price points that make cruising affordable for most travelers.

Take a break and indulge in a private getaway at The Sanctuary, our exclusive adults-only retreat offering a relaxing alternative to the myriad outdoor activities and entertainment available elsewhere on the ship. With signature beverages, light meals, and al fresco massages, Serenity Stewards attend to your every need, whether it’s to be on hand to provide chilled face towels or Evian water atomizers. Hot music and cool cocktails set to a DJ spinning popular club tunes is the ideal setting for a night of dancing.

With a rich wood décor and a theater-style kitchen, it’s no wonder Crown Grill was named among the “Best Cruise Ship Steakhouses” by USA TODAY. Set sail across the globe on a truly epic adventure – a Princess World Cruise. On a voyage spanning more than 100 days, and travelling over 33,000 nautical miles, you’ll visit more than 40 destinations in over two dozen countries. In 2025, Island Princess will sail an 116-day World Cruise – our longest ever.

Carnival also offers a variety of stage shows, musicals, comedians, and other live entertainment to keep you entertained during your cruise. Carnival cruises are best suited to families and young couples or singles in their 20s and 30s looking for a party atmosphere. Carnival is known for its bright decor and its all-around fun and lively atmosphere.

When it comes to service, you can expect to be treated more like a responsible adult on a Princess Cruise, which offers a more all-around refined experience. If you are superstitious, you’ll be pleased to know that neither Carnival nor Princess cruises have a deck 13. Princess offers a more upscale experience with better quality food and more neutral decor.

We’re bringing back the Crab Shack, a unique pop-up dining experience with everything from clam chowder and popcorn shrimp to a steamer pot (crab legs, shrimp, clams!). Look for this lunchtime sensation in the World Fresh Marketplace. If you just want a slice, you can grab one from the spot near the pool (our favorite).

Unveiling the Truth: Dentists and Sick Notes - Uncover Expert Insights

Unveiling the Truth: Dentists and Sick Notes - Uncover Expert Insights

A sick note, also known as a medical certificate, is a document that certifies that a person is unfit to work or attend school due to illness or injury. Sick notes are typically issued by a doctor, but in some cases, they may also be issued by other healthcare professionals, such as dentists.

There are several reasons why a dentist might issue a sick note. For example, a dentist may issue a sick note if a patient is experiencing severe pain, swelling, or bleeding. A dentist may also issue a sick note if a patient is taking medication that makes them drowsy or unable to concentrate. In some cases, a dentist may also issue a sick note if a patient is simply too sick to attend work or school.
